Best state. city. or whatever beach in the lower 48 states to surf during Summer?

I live in Florida, and during Summer, we really do not get waves anywhere in this peninsula. I haven't been able to go surfing a lot this year due to school, work, and other prospects of life and the "Summer famine" is upon our state. So, I would like to know what state in the lower 48 states gets waves during summer so I can plan out a surf-road trip there for a few weeks for some much needed surf. And please, do not say Hawaii or Alaska because I know it's good there even in the Summer but, frankly, I do not have the money to travel to those States.
