Contract misinterpreted and singed...help?
It doesn't matter what you thought you signed versus what's on paper. It is your responsibility as the seller/landlord to read the contract over before you sign it. It is YOUR legal responsibility to do that. Perhaps the realtor misunderstood you or else he wouldn't draft up a contract (unless it was the tenant's realtor that drafted it) that would go against what you want. Generally if you took such cases to court, the judge would think "what would a regular joe interpret from this contract?" If the answer is that TMI would be inclusive, then you're out of luck. Also, it is your responsibility to hire a lawyer if you can't understand or dissect the contract PRIOR to signing. You will have a difficult time wiggling out of this one.
