Does compion cause blindness?

What a fantastic question and in the right place too. Yahoo.While it can be said emotion is there for a reason we can become insular and blinkered by what we feel. Pion can lead us to destruction or save a noble cause. Compion can bring forth empathy or unbridled pity. When we see others from our own view point we tend to miss out so so much and fill the blank bits with things we take for granted. At the risk of cheapening the question, its a wee bit like when homer simpson does something nice and rescues a trapped bird that then devours a cat, or helps a bear that gets aulted by an elephant, Homer is oblivious to the mayhem he has caused and is content with the so called good deed.
