Was Zombieland rated PG-13 at one time?

my friends and I went to see stepfather and even though we had tickets, the seats were full. so instead we went to see zombieland and we all thought it was rated pg-13 at the time. howeverr, now we're hearing that it's rated R and I wanted to check on thiss. has zombieland always been rated R? or was it changed?
