What does he mean? Guy question. ?

So I've been texting my bf abd he started acting alot not like himself. He's usualy all sweet abd respectful but then he kind of started to act all 'bad' and like a rebel by calling me y and just stuff like that. I have never seen this side of him before and was wondering if someone could help me out.
